Taylor Swift, rising artist and song writer, whose largest influence is Shania Twain, began with humble roots. Crediting her mother, grandmother, and other strong female members of her family as influences, she developed a taste for country music at a young age. Amongst her early years, she also credits the Dixie Chicks and a love at an early age for the works of Patsy Cline as motivating her forward in her career and instilling confidence in her to move forward. Distributing karaoke tapes when she was only 11 during her first trip to Nashville was her road in. Although it was a depressive run due to her being turned down at every turn all was not lost. Upon her return to her native Pennsylvania she was allowed to sing for the US Open tennis tournament, gaining notoriety and a lot of attention due to her rendition and amazing voice. By the time she reached her mid teen years shed learned how to easily play the guitar, supplementing her vocal skill and quality. This is when her parents then decided at the age of 15 to move into a suburban Nashville area to facilitate her blossoming career. Her integrity was unquestionable at the age of 15 when she was offered a major label contract with RCA, yet denied their request because she wanted to write her own songs. She couldn't tolerate not expressing things her own way. Performing though soon after the rejection handed her by RCA, she sang at the Blue Bird Cafe, and was able to attract the attention of officials from Sony Records. History happened from that point forward as Taylor made record after record and topped charts in multiple genres. Straddling the fine line between pop and country her appeal has reached all ages and multiple audiences. At her current youthful artistic self, shes only got the sky as her limit. |
